My name is Jade, I’m an abortion access expert and a creative writing Master’s student, and you’ve found my Substack! JADE FAX is a new space for me to share my writing and dispatches from my world, which usually center around gender, power, Americana, and the digital age. (I do a ton of other stuff, too, which you can find at www.jadehurley.world.)
Before we dive in together, here’s a little more on the ethos of JADE FAX:
FAX: The telephonic transmission of written and printed material. Fax machine technology bridged the analog and digital eras of the 1980s and ‘90s, but was rendered obsolete following the Dot Com Boom in the early 2000s.
FACTS (STYLIZED AS “FAX”): True. Right. Word. Bars.
FAQS (PRONOUNCED “FAX”): Frequently asked questions, or recurring queries about common knowledge gaps.
JADE FACT (PLURAL “JADE FAX”): An affectionate name for an invented piece of information Jade uses to assuage her own older sister issues and Taurus-Mercury tendencies. Often incorrect, always funny.
Get excited for more JADE FAX, coming soon! Until then, subscribe here and learn more about what I do at www.jadehurley.world.
I like the middle eastern feminist perspective.
